SFMC at Wild Piglet

Phil Bowman and Mike Ofiesh with the neat trophies they won at the Timekeepers Motorcycle Club’s Wild Piglet Enduro … How cool is that?

The general object of an enduro-style motorcycle race is to arrive at pre-determined locations according to a strict schedule. Racers who arrive either early or late get a score penalty. Racers start the enduro in rows of three or four riders, which leave every minute. Mike said there were 300 racers at The Wild Piglet on March 10, 2012, which was held at Hollister Hills …

It was Clay and mascot Aiden’s first enduro after years of flat track racing …

Clay Murphy and Aiden Murphy …

Race morning started with a health scare for our friend Steve Smith, who Phil had to take to the emergency room when Steve had a sudden onset of numbness in one of his arms … Steve had to be admitted for a couple of nights, and was super disappointed to miss the race … he’s looking forward to getting back on the bike ASAP …

Steve commented that “my condition turned out to be pretty serious but Phil and the rest of the guys pulled together to see me through like real family. Super bummed to have to put off dirt biking for awhile. But it could have been much worse and I can’t wait to get back out there once I get the go ahead from my neuroligist.”

Steve went on to say “huge props to the guys, they all did great and Aiden will surley be a force to be reckoned with, he finnished 12th out of 25 in his class and it was his first enduro!?! Wow!”
