Bennett Juniper, Buckeye Hot Springs, Mono Lake …

Managed to head out of town for a couple of nights … Headed up to see the famous Bennett Juniper, an 86 foot tall massive specimen of a Western Juniper …

Taking Eagle Meadow Road I crossed Eagle Creek and Long Meadow Creek and was soon at 8400′ and making the right to bump down to the Bennett Juniper. Thought to be 4000 years old the trunk is almost 4 yards across and has a circumference of 480 inches …

Found Buckeye Hot Springs and had a soak … they come out right at Buckeye Creek, so you can take a cold plunge and hop back into one of the many little pools people have made … super nice …

A map to Buckeye Hot Springs … the road to the east of Bridgeport that drops south to the “B” is Buckeye Road, which is a fun KLR road … it loops back to Bridgeport on Twin Lakes Road …
