It Figures: Women’s Figurative Art

Our friend and artist, Stephanie Smith, currently has a showing at the Olive Hyde Art Gallery near the Mission in Fremont …

The gallery was elegant and presented the dolls (the term used by the artists who created them) in the three large rooms that make up the space very dramatically …

I was a bit surprised at how compelling Stephanie’s dolls were … you could really get a sense of their different personalities … the fabric of each costume and the hats and hair … all exquisite!

A few of the other dolls that caught my eye:

We went out to dinner to celebrate Stephanie’s triumph!

All in all, a wonderful evening!
