Gonzaga Bay …

Kiki’s was a treat, we really enjoyed our brief stay, and promptly got on the road at aroun 11 am, on our way to see how far they have paved the highway since our last trip down here with Chuck and Tegan for Christmas a couple of years ago …

The Pemex in Pertocitos was open and had gas for the first time ever, so we filled up … We were able to make it all the way to Bay of LA without having to get gas at Gonzaga Bay …

The trip to Gonzaga Bay went quickly because the road is mostly paved now … Still very beautiful, as was the day … We fooled around at Alphonsona’s a bit ($65 a night) but in the end stayed at the palapas …

It was windy when we arrived, the bane of palapa campers at Gonzaga, but Cary said a prayer and the wind died down …

Sean and Adam were there with Jodie and Christine and three beautiful children … We chatted about bikes and Colorado around their campfire … Jodie had the wonderful idea to try to contribute something to Baja, a part of the world so many of us love … She and Adam raised $3000 for an orphanage of ten kids in San Felipe, and had stopped to drop off the cash and needed supplied that morning … Cary and I were really proud of them …

We got to see Coco again … He must have heard about Jodie and Adam’s generosity, because he had a load of firewood to give them, always a treat in Gonzaga, where you can’t buy firewood!

Then it was on to Coco’s Corner and Bahia de Los Angeles …

Baja is always changing … We used to have to find an Internet cafe to post pics … This trip most places have had wi-fi and I’ve been able to post on the beach … bliss …

We got into town at 3:30 and ran into Jim and Christine! We didn’t expect to see the until the 31st, so that’s a treat … I hope to ride up to Mission San Borjas or explore the Calamuje Wash …?
