Kyle and Shaver Lake

Cary and I loaded up our Kawasaki KLRs and headed out to visit our friend Kyle …

We had packed the night before, so we got a good start … It was hot, of course, through the central valley, but cooled off nicely as we climbed into the foothills of the Sierras …

There was a huge thunderstorm that night, with thunder that lifted us (and Kyle’s cabin) a foot off the ground …

The next morning we hugged Kyle goodbye and headed south …
