More 2011 NorCalTT

I left Friday morning, after helping Cary identify herself for her GRE exam … She had registered for the graduate school exam awhile ago, under her maiden name, but her driver’s license now has our name on it …

So they weren’t going to let her sit for the test unless she could show a picture ID with her maiden name. I ran down her passport and they let her sit an hour or so late …

Then it was off to Sonora for the NorCalTT …

The Triumph Tiger, which had been running like a top, started acting up as I was getting to Sonora … It stopped running at all once I arrived … Turns out the battery had boiled dry.

On Saturday morning I had to push it across the street to the Sonora Fairgrounds for the official start of the NorCalTT … How’s that for showing up for a ride with a non-running bike?

Felicity had a spare battery due to a charging issue on her Honda, so I put that into the Tiger … It was a short trip, however, as the bike still didn’t want to run …

So it was onto the Sag Wagon just a few miles out of town …

I got to spend the day with Kelly Alberta, helping her navigate … After getting a flat the wonderful chase truck drivers got into Quincy around 9 pm.

Dave Halprin, the other Triumph rider (that’s a photo of him above) helped me until 11 pm trying to sort out the Tiger’s issues.

Blaise contributed a heated vest to the controlling-voltage cause … By running the high-beam and vest I was able to compensate for the failed voltage regulator.

After an awards banquet in Sonora Sunday night I left for home Monday morning …
