Dickens Christmas Fair

Thanks to Cary’s dad, David, we were introduced to Great Dickens Chrismas Fair, a big event at the Cow Palace, that bills itself as “A Victorian Holiday Party …

So, after David took us there during his visit last year, we just had to attend again this year … we stepped it up a notch by getting dressed up as our favorite characters from one of Charles Dickens’ novels …

We met our friends, Tegan and Chuck Dobbins at the event at 12 pm, and proceeded to enjoy the party!

There is talk that we’ll dress up as “nautical riffraff” and behave like a press gang from the old Barbary Coast days … ha.

We all had a great time, eating hot sugar almonds, roasted chestnuts and ginger bread men. Cary and Chuck seemed to be enjoying the mead and wiskey … Tegan and I kept an eye on them …

Thanks to David for introducing us to the Dickins Christmas Faire last time he was here … Cary had fun making an appointment at an A.C.T. wearhouse at Market Street and 7th Street, where she was fitted with her Mrs. Garland costume … people really seemed to enjoy her character at the Dickens Christmas Faire …

Hopefully we’ll all be characters from a Jack London seafaring novel next season!
